About Us:
Five years ago, a group of local people came together to explore the possibility of a Community in Sheds project in Kingswood and Hazel Leys. After lots of meetings, discussions, plans and fundraising we have set up a new charity, negotiated a lease with the council and our building is up and almost ready for our full public opening.
"KHL Community in Sheds" is our registered charity set up three years ago to own and manage the workshop. Inside will be a woodworking and DIY workshop including 3D CNC router, table saw, wood turning lathe and more. We also have an art room with multi purpose activities available such as sewing, 3D printing, laser cutting and sublimation printing.
Our ambition at the workshop is to enable people to have the opportunity to participate in individual and community led activities. The workshop is aimed at (but not exclusive to) people who often experience social isolation, exclusion or loneliness, frailty and mild/moderate mental health issues. KHL Community Workshop will provide a socially and volunteer led hub for like-minded individuals to share and learn new skills as well as strengthening community spirit and cohesion.

With Thanks to:
We have been generously supported with funding by the Kingswood and Hazel Leys Big Local, alongside a health and wellbeing grant from the Corby Health and Wellbeing Forum. Additional funds have come from the Northamptonshire Community Foundation for work during the pandemic making masks and PPE, and a National Lottery Community Fund Awards for All grant towards our solar panels, as well as players from the Corby lottery. Further grants have come from Corby Town Council, North Northamptonshire Council and Creative Kingswood and Hazel Leys. We have had numerous tools donated by individuals and have worked closely with Corby Council to support their work in woodlands.
